2009 Homeless Count Report

Are you homeless or on the verge of becoming homeless and need assistance with locating emergency shelter or other housing, finding employment, locating food and/or clothing pantries, or accessing other services such as case management, veterans’ services, legal aid, medical health, mental health, substance use, or other? Click here to download the Handbook of Help, a resource guide for individuals and families facing homelessness, including where to go and how to get help.

For a broader listing of area health and human services, click here to access an online directory of local programs. This information is provided by the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library, in partnership Connect2Help. You can also call Connect2Help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for assistance at 317-926-4357, or just dial 211.

Are you looking for affordable rental or for sale housing? Anyone searching for local, affordable rental and for sale housing can access a free listing and search service online or via a toll free number. Visit www.IndianaHousingNow.org or call 1-877-428-8844 to locate local, available housing using search criteria such as rent amount, number of bedrooms, zip code, Section 8 voucher accepted, accessibility features, proximity to public transportation, and other options. Landlords and property managers may also use this site to list their affordable properties at no charge.

Are you facing foreclosure? Hoosiers facing foreclosure can call a toll-free number, 877-GET-HOPE. This toll-free, confidential help-line will be available 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m daily, at no cost to the consumer. Also, visit www.877GetHope.org 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The initiative is lead by the Indiana Foreclosure Prevention Network (IFPN), a public-private partnership of government agencies, lenders, community service and housing-related organizations.
