CHIP respects the privacy of every individual who visits our site. This Privacy Policy outlines the information the CHIP website may collect and how we may use that information. CHIP reserves the right to alter this policy at any time by posting a new privacy policy at this location.

The “CHIP website” is defined as publicly accessible pages hosted under the domain www.chipindy.org, www.indycoc.org, and www.handbookofhelp.org. The CHIP website contains links to other sites. Please be aware CHIP is not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Once you link to another site, you are subject to the privacy policy of the new site.

PERSONAL DATA

“Personal Data” is defined as any information you submit through your visit to the CHIP website which can be used to personally identify you. Such information includes but is not limited to contact information such as your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address. It may also include your personal story or testimonial, photographs or other images, organizational description, and calendar event information. We will not collect any personally identifiable information about you through our site unless you have provided it to us voluntarily. If you do not want your personal data collected, please do not submit it to us.

  • We may use your personal data to respond to your inquiry or to otherwise fulfill an order or request you have placed with us;
  • We may use your personal data to promote general awareness about homelessness and/or to inspire action and support to prevent or end homelessness.

We will not sell, rent, or market your personal data to third parties for any purpose. We may share personal data you provide to us for purposes of being published in CHIP promotional materials and on our website with third parties. By submitting information for the purpose of being published in CHIP promotional materials and on our website, you agree the information may, in addition to being published by CHIP, be shared with and used by partner organizations for their promotional materials, activities, and events.

We may also share your personal data when we have your written consent; when required to do so by law, subpoena, court order, or legal process; or when disclosure is necessary to respond to your inquiry or request, provide you with information related to homeless services or resources and events, or to promote a public safety or public health issue.

CHILDREN/DIRECT NOTICE TO PARENTS

The CHIP website is not directed to children under 13 and does not intentionally collect personal data from children without parental consent. Where appropriate, we will specifically instruct those under 13 not to submit such information on our site and/or will take reasonable steps to ensure parental consent for such submission.

Your request should include your name, current address, phone number, email address (if applicable), and signature.
