Program Overview

Street Reach Indy (SRI) is a crucial flexible fund managed by CHIP Indy, designed to assist service providers across Marion County with breaking down barriers that prevent their clients from securing safe and permanent housing. This unique fund, the only one of its kind in our community, is accessible to any service provider and addresses urgent needs such as obtaining vital documents, paying housing application fees, covering transportation for family reunification, moving costs, furniture needs, substance abuse treatment, and first month’s rent.

Street Reach Indy exemplifies collective impact and action, highlighting the power of community collaboration in tackling homelessness. By delivering funds directly to those in need, SRI transcends individual organizational efforts, emphasizing a system-wide approach to ending homelessness in Indianapolis. Diversifying funding sources is a priority to maintain and expand this vital resource, ensuring its availability for years to come.

SRI requires $100,000 annually to meet the demand for financial assistance and is currently 100% funded by individual donations. By managing the fund in-house, CHIP Indy ensures rapid turnaround times for requests, often providing funds within hours.
