Youth Advisory Board (YAB)

Mission: The mission of the Youth Advisory Board is to provide critical input and feedback to Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) and Continuum of Care (CoC) programs, planning, activities and policies to uplift youth voices and priorities and further the work of ending youth homelessness.

Vision: We believe everyone has the right to be housed and connected to care.

What is YHDP?

  • The Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) is an initiative designed to reduce the number of youth experiencing homelessness.
  • The goal of the YHDP is to support selected communities, including rural, suburban, and urban areas across the United States, in the development and implementation of a coordinated community approach to preventing and ending youth homelessness.
  • Any community receiving this funding is required by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to have a Youth Advisory Board to provide feedback on program planning and implementation to best serve the youth and young adult population.
